Little powerhouses

I used to eat fresh black currants from my grandparents garden 70 years ago. These berries brought a bit of my childhood back. I have a handful every day but wish I could buy some in Australia. Black Currants have so many health benefits.

soft dried blackcurrants

Thought I would try something different, but not sure about these soft dried blackcurrants (I usually eat the freeze-dried ones on my cereal). I dislike raisons and to me these blackcurrants have a similar consistency (but luckily taste better than raisons!!!). So, I think I will stick to the freeze-dried ones.

Delicious Viberi!!

Full of nutrients, intense flavour and delicious - I included them in a sprinkle over dessert - and have a tablespoon in my breakfast with cereal, stewed apple and yoghurt. Worth waking up for. 😋

Soft Dried Blackcurrants

For many years now my Wife has had these berries on her breakfast.
When local supermarket altered their shelf layout, could not locate them.
Ordering online from Viberi was straight forward and service excellent.
We shall continue with this method from now on.

Versatile yum

I find they are the best additive to cereal in the morning. Easy snack by them selves and a great additive to baking, puddings and stewed fruit. Also love the Noir. Easy with the subscription -we don’t end up running out!

Yum!

we use these little beauties in all sorts of things but I particularly love them in a beetroot and carrot salad. Throw on some sunflower seeds or almonds and an orange dressing and bob is your uncle! Coming across these tasty nuggets in the salad is a good time for the taste buds!

Good for the eyes

All dark berries are good for the eyes, but blackcurrants are the best - according to what I have read in the medical literature. I eat them (soft dried) every morning with my breakfast cereal, and would recommend them to anyone who fears loss of eyesight in old age. Ordering them from Viberi is easy, and delivery is always prompt.

FAQ

What is a blackcurrant?

The blackcurrant is a small, dark berry, known for its bold, tart flavour and exceptionally rich nutritional profile, including one of the highest Vitamin C contents of any fruit. It is packed with anthocyanins, the pigments that give it its deep purple-black colour, which are widely studied for their antioxidant and health-supporting properties. Blackcurrants are rarely eaten raw and are most commonly enjoyed dried or in powder form in smoothies, yoghurts, granola, baking, salads, and sauces.

How do I use blackcurrants?

We recommend using 10 grams (or one heaping spoonful) per serving.

ViBERi Blackcurrants can be enjoyed in many ways:

  • Sprinkle over cereals, granola, and muesli
  • Stir into yoghurt or smoothie bowls
  • Blend into smoothies
  • Use in baking and desserts
  • Add to salads for flavour and colour
  • Enjoy as a snack for lunchboxes or trail mixes

Are blackcurrants healthier than other berries?

Blackcurrants consistently rank among the most nutrient-dense berries in the world, containing significantly higher levels of Vitamin C and anthocyanins (a type of antioxidant) than popular alternatives like blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.

New Zealand blackcurrants in particular stand out, with studies showing their unique growing environment produces berries with exceptional antioxidant levels compared to those grown elsewhere.

While all berries offer health benefits, blackcurrants, especially those from New Zealand, deliver an unmatched concentration of the compounds most associated with immune support, eye health, and reducing oxidative stress.
